Circus Eruption is an integrated youth circus group for young people aged 11 - 19. We have about 50 members with about a third of the young people having the label 'special needs'. During Monday evenings at Dillwyn Llewellyn Comprehensive School Hall in Swansea, 40-50 young members attend regularly to take part in a number of different circus skills. These include juggling, acrobatics, stilit-walking, plate-spinning, diabolo, tightrope, rola bola and unicycling. Alongside this we also play games, do dance, drama learn puppetry and masks, face painting and costume. Circus Eruption began in 1991 and since then has been an extremely beneficial project, run by young people for young people. Anyone between the ages of 11 and 19 can come along to the Try Out Nights held every September, and as long as there are places people can join.
